In this project, we designed a smart city system encouraging exercise while commuting to combat sedentary lifestyles. It includes two exercise spaces: one at the train station with active games inspired by the Nintendo Wii, and another inside the train with foot pedals and screens for casual exercise and gaming. Points earned from exercising are tracked in an app, which also functions as a game controller, helps set goals, and connects with friends. Rewards include discounts on healthy food, sportswear, and long-distance train travel, promoting both a healthy lifestyle and sustainable travel while benefiting the Dutch railway operator NS.
