In this project I worked together with a company named Hospitainer, who build portable off-grid hospital units. Hospitainer had units that were used for immediate help after natural disasters, but wanted to design a version that could be deployed in rural areas for longer periods of time. This brought with it several challenges that my team and I were tasked with finding solutions to. We focused on three main problems; sustainable power sources, energy storage, and the eventual e-waste that would come from deploying containers in developing countries. We researched these problems and designed solutions in cooperation with Hospitainer. The solutions we proposed are explained in this video.
